Once the contact email has been opened, its content needs to be engaging and convince the recipient to take action.
Poorly written emails that don't suggest any action are one of the most common reasons why outreach efforts fail.
And it makes perfect sense. After all, we’re all germany number for whatsapp short on time and emails are often skimmed quickly. That’s why it’s important that the emails you send do three things:
1. Be clear about what you're offering, whether it's a story, a product, or even a replacement for a broken link. Make it clear right away in the email so there's no confusion about what you're asking for.
By doing this, you allow the recipient to quickly make a decision about whether or not to continue reading, knowing in advance what the request may be.
2. Explain why you are sending a contact email to this person in particular: Everyone wants to feel like they have been carefully chosen and not just added to a mass mailing list.
Justifying why you are sending the email and why you think the recipient will be interested in what you have to offer shows that you have done your job well.
3. Specify the action you want the person to take without waiting for them to guess it themselves. If you want them to link to your content in an article they’re writing, say so. Likewise, if you want a brand mention to turn into a link, be clear.
This is much more effective than letting someone guess what you want them to do.
But the good news is that you can often style some of your outreach emails, at least to some extent, to speed up delivery. You’ll find a number of great examples in our guide 7 Cold Email Templates to Increase Your Reach .
