About HMIC, 2022
The Hazardous Materials Instructors and Leaders Conference (HMIC) provides moj database professional development and networking at management level for HazMat/CBRN leadership and training staff. Conference attendees can attend workshops in three areas:

Hazards and emerging technology
The HazMat leadership breakfast sponsored by CHEMTREC® will include an awards ceremony, updates on resources available to assist responders, and a review of three incident case studies with lessons learned.
Hazmat Officer of the Year
To support knowledge sharing, peer networking, and expanding educational opportunities for HazMat officers, CHEMTREC® is sponsoring a scholarship for the “Hazardous Materials Officer of the Year” to attend the 2022 Hazardous Materials Instructors and Commanders Conference (HMIC) hosted by Hazard3 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 13-16, 2022.
Hazmat Instructor of the Year
To support knowledge sharing, peer networking, and expanding educational opportunities for HazMat instructors, CHEMTREC® is sponsoring a scholarship for the “Hazardous Materials Instructor of the Year” to attend the 2022 Hazardous Materials Instructors and Commanders Conference (HMIC) hosted by Hazard3 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 13-16, 2022.
Both scholarships provide the following:
The scholarships will include:
Complementary conference registration
Three nights of hotel accommodation provided
Airfare to the conference provided
Per diem for meals (Note: some meals are already provided through the conference)
*Total scholarship aid will not exceed $2,500
Selection process
The 2022 application period will be open from June 15 to August 1. A panel selected by CHEMTREC & Hazard3 will review the applications and select the award/scholarship recipients. Recipients will be announced by August 31, 2022.
