Mr. Kodama: Originally, the amusement facility (game center) business was a difficult area for companies to differentiate themselves from one another. Up until now, our company has been working to acquire fans by offering benefits through paper membership cards, but paper cards have issues with portability and the difficulty of returning benefits to customers.

-- For example, with crane games, I imagine you must have unique knowledge and know-how in designing the difficulty level to make people addicted and the prizes that are sure to entice players, but what is that actually like?
Mr. Kodama: The maximum price for prizes is set by law.
The tricky part is finding the right level of difficulty for the price, so that we don't incur a loss and customers can go home with a prize with a smile on their face.
Mr. Kosaka and Mr. Sato have the know-how in this area.
Mr. Kosaka: Some stores are popular with children, while others have a more diverse clientele. The customer base varies from town to town, so each store keeps an eye on its customers and tries to find ways to make their store the most enjoyable experience possible.
Even the same crane game is placed differently at each store, so you may find different ways to enjoy it by playing at different stores.
