What is the maximum area of a plot for a private household?
A citizen can receive a land plot from the state on a long-term lease or buy a plot on a general basis.
In some regions of the country, the authorities issue land free of charge for perpetual use with the right of inheritance (see 119-FZ ). In this case, the land plot must meet a number of requirements.
According to the law, the general limit for the size of a land plot is no more than 0.5 hectares (50 acres). However, regional authorities have the right to increase it up to five times. That is, the maximum you can count on is 2.5 hectares. If the territory is larger than the permitted limit, the alienation of excess land will be required for registration.
