The burner is one of the fundamental components of a heating system, and in particular of the boiler in which the combustion of the selected raw material or compound takes place. The proper functioning of the boiler and the efficiency of the combustion process will largely depend on the good condition of this device.

The burner's job is to transform the fuel into a gaseous phase , when it is not already in that phase, or to pulverize it into droplets with a diameter of less than a micron so that it mixes intimately with the air inside the boiler and in the appropriate proportions to achieve complete combustion .

It is normally located attached to the boiler and fixed to it vp purchasing officer email lists by means of a flange or coupling layer with refractory protection. The electrical supply lines, the control line from the thermostats and the circuit that supplies the burner with fuel reach it.

As with any industrial equipment, the maintenance required by the burner will be of two types; preventive and corrective maintenance .

Preventive maintenance
Preventive maintenance is understood as all those operations necessary to ensure optimum energy performance, acceptable service safety conditions and strict environmental care throughout the burner's useful life. As we can see, it is not a simple task of equipment maintenance, which could be limited to carrying out the operations recommended by the manufacturer to achieve correct operation. Preventive maintenance also seeks to achieve high standards of efficiency , both in the energy, safety and environmental fields .

It is made up of different operations with a certain periodicity, with daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, and annual work . All work must be recorded on appropriate forms established for this purpose, which must state the task carried out, the date, the worker responsible for it, the results of the maintenance as well as any explanatory comments.

The tasks that make up preventive maintenance will depend, to a large extent, on the technology and characteristics of the equipment, but some of the typical operations for gas burner maintenance could be the following:

Another consideration is the so-called corrective maintenance . This includes repairs that take place due to breakdowns and malfunctions detected by maintenance personnel or third parties.
