People read blogs for entertainment

Post by Joyzfsdsk322 »

By far the most common reason people will read a blog post is to learn something new. This result doesn’t surprise me at all.

Why? Posts that include guides, step-by-step processes, video tutorials, or quick facts often get a lot of search traffic. This is because people search for instructions on how to do things on Google every day.

Even when posts don’t inform people on how to do something on a granular level, blogs that discuss complex topics like studies, trends, or topics that people are less familiar with can still spark a person’s curiosity.

Psychologically, researchers have reported that humans crave valuable skype database information similarly to how they crave food and financial wealth. As a blogger, you can leverage this to create content that sparks curiosity, while discussing topics related to your brand, service, or products.

For example, on the Marketing Blog, we could show our readers how to use a new social network, like Clubhouse. By doing this, marketers or social media users who want to learn how to do this can find our content in search or on social media and read it to learn how to create this content.

► On a broader scope, our blog can create multiple pieces of content that discuss a trend from multiple angles. For example, when the app first emerged, we wrote a few blog posts to answer common questions from marketers like, “What is ?”, “How do brands promote on” or “How do you leverage influencer marketing on.

In addition to helping our readers, guide or trend blogs allow us to highlight the level of research and knowledge we’ve gained as marketers.

While people crave knowledge, they also like to be entertained. Every day, people can read blogs that tell interesting stories, make them laugh, or intrigue them in some other way.

This aligns well with 2020 research that notes that more consumers were watching videos and consuming online content for fun and escapism.

But, as a business blogger, you might be wondering, “How can I entertain my readers while still keeping my blog professional?”

The truth is, when you think creatively, there are several ways to entertain your audience while still staying on brand.

☛ For example, you can create a fun infographic or photo post about a viral trend in your industry. While your readers may not be willing to invest in this viral trend, images and information about the trend may entertain them.
In one of our posts, we highlighted funny memes that marketers used in their real campaigns.

Alternatively, you can also create a fun, yet informative, video or podcast to accompany your blog post. With this added layer of content, you can go deeper into discussing a viral marketing trend or interview an industry expert that people in your field follow. While this may not be “entertaining” to people outside of your industry, it can be more interesting than the average blogs that people in your field might be reading.
