Pursuant to the provisions of Article 26 of the Occupational Risk Prevention Act , as soon as the company becomes aware of the pregnancy status of one of its employees, it must adapt their workplace in order to minimise the risks that have been detected in this case, although this is not the only possible protection measure and is not always feasible.

Maternity is one of the cases especially protected by labor legislation, so employers must be aware of their obligation to safeguard the health of pregnant employees and the mechanisms that exist to achieve this.

Job adaptation
Correct adaptation of a pregnant woman's workplace starts with a good prevention study that analyses the specific risks of the workplace under these circumstances. Only in this way will we be able to know what specific measures need to be taken and how to minimise the risk as much as possible, making this known to all employees so that they can report the pregnancy situation as soon as possible.

In addition, in certain high-risk positions where college and universities email list chemical or other agents are handled, it may be advisable to carry out an additional medical examination as soon as the employee's new situation is known, even if the annual check-up has already been completed.

The aim of the adaptation is to prevent pregnant women from being exposed to any risks that may exist as soon as possible, based on the company's full knowledge of the position and employees' knowledge of the dangers, at the company's request.

Change of position
When the risk to the pregnant woman cannot be minimized, she may be moved to a compatible and safe position while the risk persists. In addition, the pregnant woman may request to stop working at night if this is the case, provided that she can prove through a medical prescription that this negatively affects her pregnancy, as can any employee who can prove a health problem .

Therefore, the priority is not to expose the pregnant employee to risks, ending them or keeping her away from them, and if none of these things are possible?
