The law of May 21, 2024 on the regulation of the digital space includes measures that will make it possible to secure certain uses of the Internet and, thus, better protect French citizens, particularly the youngest, and online businesses. Presentation.

“Securing and regulating the digital space” (SREN): this is the asia mobile number list ambition of the law promulgated on May 21, 2024 andpublished in the Official Journal of May 22, 2024.
Through a range of concrete and unprecedented measures , the public authorities intend to restore confidence in digital by offering a more secure and sovereign digital space to all French people.
This law results from both:
European regulations DSA ( Digital Services Regulation) and DMA ( Digital Markets Regulation) adopted by France in 2022 to put an end to abuses by digital giants,
parliamentary work on the exposure of minors to pornographic content and the report on digital sovereignty ,
consultations carried out within the National Refoundation Council ,
and also follows initiatives taken to regulate the activity of influencers .
Digital Space Law: The Steps
The law aimed at securing and regulating the digital space was promulgated on May 21, 2024 and published in the Official Journal of May 22, 2024 .
The text was definitively adopted on April 10, 2024 , after the agreement reached in the joint committee on March 26, 2024 on a final version of the bill.
The bill was presented to the Council of Ministers on May 10, 2023 , before being adopted at first reading, with amendments, by the Senate on July 5, 2023 , then by the National Assembly on October 17, 2023 .
