Issuance of base code and conversion code
Tag placement
Operation check
We will proceed in three steps:
1. Issue a "base code" and a "conversion code"
In order to measure conversions, you need to issue a "base code" and a "conversion code" and implement tags.
First, we will introduce how to issue a "base code" and a "conversion code".
1. Open the LINE Ads "Ads Manager" screen, select "MENU" in the upper left, and click "Tracking (LINE Tag)."
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you will see the "Base Code" and "Conversion Code." Copy each of them and save them in a text file.
2. Place tags
Next, install the issued tag. This time, we will introduce how to install tags using Google Tag Manager (GTM).
2-1. Setting up the "base code"
1. Select "Tags" from the tabs on the left side of the Google Tag Manager home page, and click the "New" button in the top right corner of the screen that appears.
2. Specify the tag name and click "Set Tag". (There are no naming rules, but I named it "LINE Ad_Base Code" to distinguish it from other tags.)
3. Click "Custom HTML" on the right side of the screen.
4. Paste the "base code" you just saved into the HTML. Select "Trigger" at the bottom.
5. Select “All Pages”.
6. Click "Save" in the upper right corner of the screen. This completes the "Base Code" setting.
1. As before, go to the Google Tag Manager container top page (the page where you can see a list of tags) and click "New."
2. Specify the tag name (we used "LINE Ad_CV Code" here) and click "Set Tag".
3. Click "Custom HTML" on the right side of the screen.
4. Paste the "conversion code" you saved earlier into the HTML, then select "Advanced Settings".
5. This time, the "conversion code" only needs to fire once per page, so change the tag call option to "Once per page."
Also, the "conversion code" needs to fire after the "base code" has fired. Check "Deliver tags before LINE ad CV code fires" and select the "LINE base code" you set up earlier.
(This setting is not necessary if it is clear that the conversion code will fire after the base code, such as if you want to count button clicks as conversions.)
