From AI to superintelligence: when does a tool become a "creature"?

Back in 1999, the Cluetrain Manifesto was hatched , which became a sort of bible for all those involved in the technology industry and was cited millions of times for precisely this reason. Many of the predictions contained in this manifesto have not come to fruition, but some are, however, pregnant with foresight.
