Of course, the US is still much bigger in terms of both the number of startups and the volume of investment. In Silicon Valley, about $6 billion was invested in the second quarter of this year. Israel is quite comparable in terms of volumes to New York and Boston. But America was and remains a huge market, and Israel has never been and never will be a market.

Local companies are making exits mainly in the American market - either through sales to large corporations or through an IPO. Most of the Israeli companies we invest in are trying to open an office in the US as soon as possible.

The ecosystem in Berlin is actively developing. We are not present in Asia because we are focused on Europe and the US. In order to be taken seriously in Israel, you have to be inside the system all the time. If we visit the country once every two months, we will most likely only invest in the “long tail” – startups that have failed to raise money from other funds.

What's next?

If the company is a sensible business that earns $10-100 million a year, the buyer will not be long in coming. Unfortunately, although many Russian projects have started looking abroad, they have not yet become successful. The success of a startup is an established business that employs many people.
