In early March 2020, we conducted a study among 30,000 users from 31 regions of Russia and found out where the share of female teams in companies predominates and what helps women cope with work tasks. In all the regions studied, women made up less than half of the teams.

The leading region in terms of the share of women in the total number of company personnel was Rostov Oblast (46%). The top 5 for this indicator were Krasnoyarsk Krai (45.7%), Irkutsk Oblast (44.5%), Tyumen Oblast (42%), and Stavropol Krai (41.9%). Moscow and Moscow Oblast took 9th place for this indicator.

The regions with a predominantly male workforce included vietnam whatsapp list Ryazan Oblast (29.5% women), Primorsky Krai (28.5% women), and Kirov Oblast (24.5% women).

According to our data, the majority of employees of Russian companies (37%) are not concerned about the issue of the percentage of men and women at work; they are comfortable with people of any gender. Only about 30% of respondents said that they would like to work in a team where men predominate. But only 9.7% of respondents spoke in favor of a female team. A quarter of employees would prefer to work in a team with gender balance.

Does gender affect success at work?
Most respondents do not associate an employee’s gender with the possession of certain skills (for example, according to 46% of respondents, gender does not affect the ability to formulate tasks), with initiative (39.4% of respondents stated that both men and women equally often suggest new tools and programs to optimize work) or with the punctuality of completing tasks (65% note that both men and women miss deadlines equally).

"It turns out that a very small proportion of employees of Russian companies believe that a person's gender affects their work qualities. The majority note that men formulate tasks better (37% of respondents) and more often offer new tools and programs for business," notes Megaplan CEO Sergey Kozlov . "But at the same time, Megaplan's internal statistics confirm that men miss task deadlines much more often."

What are women like at work?
The respondents named the ability to compromise and negotiate (60%), the ability to work in a team (50%), the ability to create a comfortable working atmosphere (47.6%) and the ability to build work processes (45.3%) as the most developed personal skills of women.

Among the qualities that help women at work, the survey participants highlighted responsibility (64%), persistence/perseverance (49%), endurance (41.7%) and intuition (32.7%). But emotions are the main obstacles to achieving success for girls - this is the opinion of 79% of respondents. Others include the inability to separate work and personal aspects (47%), a tendency to rely on feelings rather than facts (36.5%) and stubbornness (25%).
