My relationship with sales: a disaster

Post by simarahman5835 »

Beyond the sale, the real problem was my relationship with money .

I don't come from a wealthy family. My parents always made sure we didn't lack anything. But it wasn't taboo in our home. We knew we weren't rolling in it. That we had to be careful to make ends meet. That we had to make concessions. Not always being able to afford what we wanted, etc.

Since I was little, I have had this image: earning money is difficult and you have to be careful how you spend it .
(That's probably why I'm an ant, but it's actually a good thing because overdrafts don't exist in my house!)

Bad relationship with money = difficult relationship with selling .

Because selling was a nightmare for me.
I was afraid that making money would change me.
And I kept telling myself “I don’t know how to sell”, “I’m not a salesperson”.

For me at the time, selling = manipulating, scamming.
Anything that contradicts my values.
I didn't want to be this image of a salesman who sells anything to anyone.
I didn't want to turn into a shark.

And if selling is all it takes, then no thanks. It will be without me!

Obviously with all my limiting beliefs around sales and money, selling and finding clients was an obstacle course.

Because of this catastrophic sales relationship, I had germany whatsapp very few clients during my first 3 years of entrepreneurship. And they were clients who came from my professional network. So they already knew me. I didn't have to "sell myself" to them. It happened naturally.

Few customers = little income = making a living from your activity is complicated.

It took me years to calm down my relationship with sales.
Don't think that my transformation was done in 2 days.
And it's something that I still work on a little every day.

Because selling is first of all about having confidence in what you offer .
Otherwise, the people in front of you feel it.
If you don't have confidence in yourself and your offers, how can you expect strangers to have confidence in you?

And building self-confidence and your business takes time.57% of people say they are more likely to buy from salespeople who do not pressure them into purchasing decisions.
